The studio
A room built for breathing.
Tempo sits on a quiet block east of downtown Austin, in an old printworks we stripped back to brick, light, and a warm wood floor. It is a place to slow down on purpose.
The space
Brick, light, and a floor you can trust.
We kept the bones of the building and added almost nothing. High windows on two sides, a floor of reclaimed oak, and lime-washed walls that hold the morning light soft and even. There are no mirrors, because the work is felt, not watched.
Two rooms, sixteen mats each, never sold beyond that. Heat and air move gently so the room stays clear, and the sound stays low. By the second block of the day the place has its own kind of quiet, and you feel it the moment you step in.

How we teach
Breath leads. The body follows.
Every block starts with the breath and builds from there. We teach a steady, nasal, four-count rhythm and ask the movement to keep time with it, so effort stays honest and the nervous system settles rather than spikes. It is simple to learn and it changes how the work feels almost at once.
From that base we layer strength, mobility, and recovery across the day, so a regular week covers everything the body needs without ever forcing it. Teachers stay close, give hands-on cues when you want them, and leave you be when you do not.

What we hold to
Slow is strong
We move at a pace you can breathe through. Control beats speed, and the slow reps are where the strength actually lives.
Small rooms
Sixteen mats, never more. Enough space to move freely, and close enough that a teacher always sees you.
Every body
Stiff, strong, brand new, coming back from injury. Every block scales to where you are today, no exceptions.
